Case Study 1 - Valuation
The client owns a mixed-use development with a parking component that serves commercial offices, retail shops, entertainment venues, and residential housing. During the pandemic, the client filed a claim with its insurance company under its business interruption policy which included the parking component of the development. The claim was denied, and the client retained Mr. Hammerschlag as an expert witness to determine the loss of business for a specified period during the nationwide shutdown. His analysis was unquestionably accepted by both parties.
Furthermore, he provided an added value to the client due to his on-site visit resulting in rate recommendations for a mismanaged parking lot on the property.
